Assemblymember Timothy Grayson toured a tiny house at the state capitol in Sacramento, California on Sept. 1st, 2021. Megan Fehrenbacher, the founder and builder of Mega Tiny Homes graciously transported this beautiful tiny house from her building facility in Island City, Oregon.
Assemblymember Timothy Grayson demonstrates that a tiny house could be part of the housing crisis that is now unprecedented in Sacramento and across the nation. This tiny house was built in 30 days and offers a rapid solution for the homeless, and for those that are about to be homeless, and for those displaced by wildfires.
Four to ten households in California have unaffordable housing costs and therefore are at risk of becoming unhoused. Mr. Grayson states that we must act now to build more affordable housing units. Other benefits of tiny houses include affordability, mobility, and the ability to arrange multiple private units.
