Labor & Industries-Delegation To Qualified Inspection Agencies
Washington State House Bill 1486 became effective on July 28th, 2019. The sponsors were Representatives Mosbrucker, Gregerson, and Chandler at the request of Department of Labor & Industries. It was read the first time on 1/23/2019 Referred to Committee on Labor & Workplace Standards.
AN ACT Relating to delegation of inspection duties for factory1built housing and commercial structures; and amending RCW 43.22.4702and 43.22.450
The department shall have the authority to delegate all or part of its duties of inspection to a local enforcement agency or a qualified inspection agency.
Qualified inspection agencies shall be objective, competent, and10independent from the companies responsible for the work being inspected. The qualified inspection agency will disclose to the department any conflict of interest so that objectivity may be confirmed. Qualified inspection agencies shall have adequate equipment to perform the required inspections and shall employ experienced personnel with appropriate certifications and knowledge for the inspections being performed. Washington State Regulation Of Tiny Houses
Washington state allows tiny houses, but it is important to know the process the state allows. The state has amended and adopted Appendix Q Tiny House to be effective July 1st, 2021. Appendix Q Tiny Houses refers to tiny houses on a foundation, 400 square feet or less. Appendix Q Tiny House has been adopted on a state level, it will be up to the local jurisdictions to adopt it as well.
